Krishnamurti Set Free

“My only concern is to set men absolutely, unconditionally free.”

Set Men?

The words “to set men” implies an outside agent (other than men, acting on men) that is determining – setting – men.*

Like our pushback on the 100th Monkey: transformation can’t come from an external agent.  Transformation can’t just happen to people. Transformation happens through first-person learning.

Our concern is learning to steward humankind’s (first-person-inner-agency) learning towards being ever more healthily learning-oriented and able (implicitly freer from conditioning).

* It’s also an archaically gender-biased construct (if only in languaging ?) – Also “set” may just have been a limitation of his language at that time. He was all about inner agency.
