As you’ve heard me wax on about, one of the greatest cons in American history was getting the general public to think slavery was about race – about outright owning people. We may have outlawed outright ownership, but the underlying business ethic of American capitalism – that people are assets to be manipulated into profitable behaviors (just business, nothing personal) rages on. This documentary is a great testimonial to that point.
I routinely fall asleep watching documentaries. Some I come back to night after night until I finish. Rarely is one so captivating that I can’t sleep until I finish it. This is one of them. For anyone interested in health, food, the predatory ethics of capitalism, or how the past efforts of progressives have made our world safer, I think this will be worth your time.
