OLSN – AI (Lexi) | ![]() |
Parking Lot: Draft:
OLSN interfaced / mediated AI for learning from reading. Regardless of content or purpose, opening a doc or book or other resource triggers the AI to read its entirety so that its meanings become available to support learning anything and everything relevant to any place one might be located in reading the book or document. For example how a character’s one line from 20 chapters ago is related to what you are reading now, or the nesting of prior shared knowledge blocks that scaffold your learning of the meaning in wherever you are currently learning. AI can “read” a book or document and be able to support the reader through a new kind of index that instead of being separate and aggregate and clunky is built into every word . Every word (or selection of words) is itself a button (via OLSN like interface) that can evoke the AI in modes that auto populate optional location relevant meaning support. A co-implicate meaning navigator, not abstract, but (in this mode) relevancy bounded to the meanings in the book or whatever it is.
This might be an additional option in OLSN’s popup, or an added modality of the “Word Explorer.” that context-sensitively supports the meaning behind using the word (rather than learning the word). In that sense like the Learner Interface’s “representation” mode (35 years later) except that location relevant meanings are dynamically available via AI rather than having to have been pre-tagged.
